  • Misión

The mission of the Friends of Daley Ranch is to support and promote the City of Escondido's efforts to protect and maintain Daley Ranch Conservation Bank habitats and wildlife. Our goals are to: * Educate the next generation of Environmental Stewards and provide service-learning opportunities that supplement our educational programming. * Develop and implement enhancement projects that support the conservation of Daley Ranch. * Cultivate relationships with sister organizations and encourage responsible recreational opportunities at Daley Ranch.

    Acerca de

The Friends of Daley Ranch was organized in 1997, soon after the City of Escondido purchased Daley Ranch as a Conservation Mitigation Bank. We have widespread community support, with over 300 current members. Over the years we have partnered with sister organizations to acquire additional property as open space, including Stanley Peak and Mountain Meadow Preserve. We have installed bi-lingual interpretive signage, plus plant identification signs. We have advocated for biological monitoring of Daley Ranch, including our own installation of wildlife cameras. We have promoted Daley Ranch as a recreational destination, with community outreach and collaboration with recreational organizations. We have restored the historical structures from the original ranch, including the old farm outbuildings and barn. Our signature educational program has been sponsoring full-day field trips every spring that bring every 7th grader from the five Escondido Union School District middle schools to Daley Ranch for a day of hands-on learning at docent-led stations.
