Care for Life mission is… To alleviate suffering, promote self-reliance and instill hope

We do this by… actively affecting change in the lives of Mozambican children and vulnerable families by alleviating suffering, fostering self-reliance, and instilling hope. Our primary program called Family Preservation, targets rural areas in Sofala Province Mozambique Africa that are in extreme poverty — the "poorest of the poor". These households cannot meet basic needs for survival. They are chronically hungry, unable to access health care, lack the amenities of safe drinking water and sanitation, cannot afford education for some or all of the children, and perhaps lack even rudimentary shelter. The Family Preservation Project is a holistic approach to combating the increasing orphan dilemma by preserving the remaining familial relationships while encouraging and enabling the principles of self-reliance. Care For Life seeks to preserve fractured families by encouraging progress against essential indicators of well-being to bring the family up to a minimal basic survival level. The desired outcome is to provide a stable and permanent family in which the child can grow and receive an education. Care For Life was established in the year 2000 as a non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization with NGO (non-governmental organization) status in Mozambique.
