Fetching Hearts Rescue is a non-profit dog rescue, that is a completely volunteer based dog rescue that is trying to save dogs from abuse, neglect, or abandonment. We dedicate our time and energy to finding loving and caring homes for these dogs. It doesn’t matter the dog's age, breed, and size, we try to rescue them all from shelters in Connecticut or with partners in high kill shelters in the south. They come to us to be properly vetted, in loving foster homes, not kennels, given a proper diet, and given any medical care needed before being adopted to their loving home.
There are approximately 3.3 million dogs put in a shelter each year with approximately 670,000 being euthanized.
Our team, have saved 1,064 dogs since the charter in 2020 with over 400 dogs rescued last year alone. Our director started this rescue with the passion from a young age to save dogs. Kathy and her family rescued a dog when she was 11 years old. This dog showed her what it meant to not just love a dog but to learn the connection between rescue and owner. Kathy sadly lost Tucker suddenly in 2017 and her mission to begin a rescue to save these dogs and show why these rescue dogs and their owners have such a great loving bond.
