BATTLEBETTY FOUNDATION

BattleBetty Foundation was founded in August 2018 by Marine Corps veteran DeAndria Hardy as answer to the gap in gender-specific resources available to women veterans in need. At the time of our founding BattleBetty was the first organization in South Carolina with a mission focused to support women veterans and over the years our continuous work has allowed us to grow to open South Carolina's first Women Veteran Resource Center.

Our programs are centered around the statement "Taking Care of H.E.R.". This includes components for Housing, Empowerment, and Reintegration. Our housing component has is our Emergency Shelter program for single women veterans. Each veteran within this program receives daily meals, hygiene essentials, and case management to assist with moving toward housing stability. Our empowerment component includes monthly peer support, equine therapy in partnership with Guiding Reins, and camaraderie events. Our reintegration component focuses on workshops to improve life, interpersonal, and employment skills
