Community Roots - Jena

The mission of Community Roots is to empower youth and strengthen communities in Louisiana by promoting mental and physical health through safe, inclusive recreational spaces, programs, and outreach. We are committed to fostering resilience, creativity, and social connection through the planning, construction, and maintenance of skateparks and other recreational and educational facilities, as well as community wellness initiatives. By collaborating with families, local leaders, and partners, Community Roots transforms public spaces into lasting opportunities for growth, active living, and community pride.

We are a group of moms and dads who just want to save children from themselves - drugs, alcohol, teen pregnancy, etc. Our main objectives as stands are:

• To build a viable Skatepark in Jena, Louisiana which promotes the health and wellness of the children of the community
• Assist with community driven opportunities for giving back
• Provide support to local children and their families who need additional resources (i.e., sports equipment, financial help, redoing town's water lines, etc.)
