NeoHERO Foundation®

Every Newborn. Every First Responder. We are the world’s first and only nonprofit with a mission of improving neonatal health by providing expert guidance, resources, equipment, and education to emergency responders in prehospital transport. NeoHERO Foundation® is a South Carolina based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded on March 7, 2025.

NeoHERO’s® founder is Lindsay Spurgeon, a Board-Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with additional Board-Certification in Neonatal and Pediatric Transport. The foundation was created following an impactful patient experience, where a neonate was born at home and brought in through the emergency department lifeless with no heartbeat. Lindsay was told by EMS: “We don’t have the training to resuscitate these babies and we don’t carry equipment this small. We did the best we could.”

NeoHERO provides first responders with neonatal resuscitation and care education through in-person training as well as provides the appropriately sized neonatal equipment necessary for them to save a life. NeoHERO accomplishes our mission through collaborating with the departments, gaining a better understand of their size, needs, and then integrates neonatal training and equipment into their existing program to improve neonatal health.
