SFBAC Learning for Life

Acerca de

The San Francisco Bay Area Council, Learning for Life program is currently partnered with 8 schools in the City of Oakland and serves 600 students and their families in East Oakland. We provide academic, arts, social skill, health, nutrition and career development programs designed to support schools and community-based organizations in their efforts to prepare youth to successfully handle the complexities of contemporary society while building their self-confidence, motivation, and supporting families to live healthy and vibrant lives. Through these partnerships, Learning for Life has worked to maintain a high level of program quality and community involvement. Because of the high quality programs we offer, Learning for Life has significantly increased its capacity to run programs over the last 6 years. During the 2004-2005 school year, Learning for Life programs were offered to only 74 students in one school. Over the past 6 years, Learning for Life has increased its program capacity in order to serve students at 8 elementary schools. Learning for Life has been operating since 1991 and serves and employs a diverse population. Learning for Life programs are designed for all age groups from Kindergarten through age 20.
