In 2019 the St. Luke's Health Hospitals in the greater Houston area became a part of a new not for profit company, CommonSpirit Health. CommonSpirit Health came into being through the alignment of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), of which St. Luke's Health was a part, and Dignity Health. Commonspirit Health is one of the largest nonprofit health care systems in the U.S. CommonSpirit Health is made up of more than 1,000 care sites in 21 states coast-to-coast, serving 20 million patients in big cities and small towns across America.
