Vaccinate The States

VaccinateCA began humbly, with a tweet. A group of like-minded people connected via social media after seeing loved ones spend hours on the phone, trying to find vaccine appointments---a frustrating process that strained the healthcare system at a critical time. By publishing what they learned as they called pharmacies and hospitals, they could help others find vaccination appointments, and save medical professionals time to focus on their lifesaving work. A handful of callers and a spreadsheet has grown to a nonprofit with over 750 volunteers working on a national scale. Every day, data is recorded on thousands of locations - from vaccine availability to how to make an appointment - and then published at https://vaccinatethestates.org/. Recently, the focus has shifted to supporting communities where barriers to vaccination are high and vaccine uptake is low. There have been many successes, but millions of shots in arms are still needed for America to move towards herd immunity.
