We deliver healthy, balanced meals! The Covid-19 shutdown forced us to recognize the nearby communities that struggle with food insecurity. Food pantries provide much-needed access to groceries, but offerings can be limited. In addition, food pantries rely heavily on canned goods and other foods that can be high in carbohydrates but offer little protein. Therefore, there is a critical need for healthy, balanced meals made from fresh ingredients and delivered to people’s homes. Columbia County Recovery Kitchen prepared and delivered 200 meals our first week. We now prepare and deliver 1,200 cost-free meals per week. Professional chef Tommy Carlucci oversees the kitchen and manages 15 volunteer cooks. Passionate, generous people prep from scratch, cook and package all the meals for delivery. The meals are then delivered by volunteer drivers to homes in 24 towns and the City of Hudson each weekday. Columbia CountyRecovery Kitchen is a community effort. Funding comes through fundraisers, social media, and direct donations, and we have been awarded grants from institutions
