Biloba organic was founded in 2014. At first year the project planted an orchard in Katikke village, 2300 meter above sea level. Katikke is located about 10 km uphill from todays farm. We lost a lot of the plantation in 2015 after earthquake due to difficulties with maintenance. We replanted and today about 80 almond, apple and pear and 100 kiwi trees are establish there. The same year Biloba founded a nursery and farm together with a local farmer, near Nawalpur on 1600 m. The devastating 2015 eartquake made us to focus on building and rebuilding in the years to come. Even of that we managed to run the farm and nursery.
During the years in Nawalpur we planted and distributed about 500,000, black cardamom plants, 80, 000 coffee seedlings and several other species was planted. Different kinds of citrus and new fruit trees.
Those years teaches us a bit about what works and what does not work. We have been learning by try and fail.
We aim to be a resource for permaculture farming in our local area and in Nepal.
