Muhibbah Food Bank Malaysia Society is the first food bank in Malaysia to collect both food and secondhand home items and furniture to distribute to people in need. The organisation has backing from the Minister of Finance for a full import and sales tax exemption for foreign donors and well recognized by the Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost Of Living. They provide and set up whole sets of necessary furniture for an entire family for families, welfare centres, and schools dealing with extreme poverty and other difficult situations, as well as people who have been severely affected by natural catastrophes. The organisation has assisted 100,000 people, 30000 families, 50 orphanages and old folk homes, 20 schools, 8 refugee learning centres and 2 rehab centres in Peninsular Malaysia since it was founded in December 2019.

The initiative has benefited the 11 major SDGs of the UN: 1, 2, 3, 4, 10,11, 12, 13, 16 and 17. According to the organisation, a strong country starts at home since that is where life begins. They have gathered furniture with an estimated worth of up to RM 1,088,000.00 (restored), and they have assisted in resolving Malaysia's dumping issues. In addition to aiding the less fortunate, the organisation collects, restores, and reuses old furniture to assist local authorities in locating and cleaning up trash sites. The initiative spreads knowledge of the UNSDGs and the community's challenges while also promoting them. The initiative also showcases young NGOs' skills to address complex issues facing low-income families.

By leaving no one behind, the initiative contributes to and advances the UNSDGs' commitment to the future. The organisation prioritises providing furnishings to individuals in need of support and is non-discriminatory. They want to support underprivileged communities, which is consistent with SDG No. 1, "No Poverty." The initiative contributes to waste reduction and resource conversion, which is in line with SDG No. 11 "Sustainable Cities and Communities." Additionally, the project supports SDG No. 12, "Responsible Consumption and Production." Finally, the initiative supports SDG No. 17 "Partnership for the Goals." Waste collectors, the government, young people and local communities, and recyclers are just a few of the stakeholders that the organisation works with to achieve social and environmental benefits.
