Acerca de

The Potomac Appalachian Trail Club (www.patc.net) is a 501C3 non-profit organization committed to the establishment, protection, preservation and maintenance of over 1,000 miles of hiking trails in the mid-Atlantic region. As part of its mission, PATC produces outstanding authoritative maps and guidebooks for hiking in the mid-Atlantic region. Sales of PATC maps and guidebooks support the ongoing volunteer efforts to maintain trails, shelters, cabins, as well as land purchases for the protection of trailheads.

PATC was formed in 1927 under the leadership of Myron Avery to support two major objectives: the creation of the Appalachian Trail and Shenandoah National Park. Today the Club maintains 240 miles of the Appalachian Trail in the mid-Atlantic region, side trails in the Shenandoah National Park, the 250 mile Tuscarora Trail and many other trails in the region. It is one of the founding volunteer trail clubs of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy.
