Community Power

Community Power is a locally-focused Minnesota energy democracy organization, based in Minneapolis, that is dedicated to supporting residents of cities and towns to build a clean, local, equitable, affordable, and reliable energy future. We partner with advocacy, community-based, and solidarity-economy organizations like renters rights organizations, policy organizations, and cooperatives to create and promote solutions to improve standards of life, community economic stability and climate resilience; we support community-based organizations to navigate how the energy system works and how to intervene to get better outcomes for communities; we’ve made and continue to make energy a city-wide elections issue by hosting candidate Q&A forums. We believe that racial, environmental and economic justice are the foundations of climate action.
