Our primary mission is supporting our neighbors experiencing food insecurity, with no paperwork requirements, qualification requirements, or conditional restrictions including but not limited to sobriety or homelessness.
We are committed to providing a judgement-free safe and anonymous resource for all neighbors, including our LGBTQ community and undocumented people/noncitizens.
Lamy Mutual Aid is a 100% volunteer-led/run organization.
We are a very new nonprofit - after years of grassroots mutual aid engagement in our community, we decided to apply for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status during the pause in SNAP benefits in 2025. Currently, we distribute prepared meals weekly to 60-100 neighbors, and provide additional support (grocery list requests, utility/rent assistance, etc.) as our budget allows.
We are committed to community building and growing our network so that when one neighbor is in need, we are able to connect them with another neighbor whose skills, knowledge, or connections can be helpful. We believe that true community building requires mutual trust, respect, and collaboration.
