The Sapolu Destined Academy Foundation expands access to world-class academics, youth sports, and elite athletic training for underserved and international youth, especially supporting girls in sports. Through targeted scholarships, tuition assistance, and comprehensive support systems, we cultivate a diverse and inclusive community of student-athletes equipped to excel, lead with integrity, and uplift others.
The Sapolu Destined Academy Foundation (SDAF) was founded by four-time Super Bowl champion Jesse Sapolu to address a critical gap: the lack of access to structured, supportive, and academically grounded youth sports programs for children from underserved communities. After retiring from the NFL, Jesse saw clearly how many talented youths were left behind—not for lack of ability, but for lack of opportunity, guidance, and educational support.
At SDAF, we believe in the power of youth sports as a catalyst—not just for athletic growth, but for character development, academic engagement, and long-term success. Our programs introduce children to sport in a way that builds discipline, teamwork, and confidence, while keeping academic excellence and career readiness at the forefront.
Our Mission in Action
Jesse Sapolu founded SDAF to give back to the communities that shaped him. He understands the barriers faced by economically marginalized youth and is committed to building a foundation where sport opens doors, but education keeps them open.
