  • Misión

Our mission is to inspire interest in and understanding of science. Our vision is to become the area's leading resource for hands-on learning.

    Acerca de

The Science Center started almost 50 years ago as a group of involved citizens who wanted to help the community's children with their science education. We now provide science classes, outreach programs, summer science camp, senior computer classes, lecture series, environmental education, planetarium shows and other educational events to all of Pinellas County. Every year, over 20,000 elementary school children attend classes here, and people of all ages attend our special events, such as Astronomy Days and Nights, Archaeology Day, Science Fair Expo and many others. Our facilities include a planetarium, an observatory, an Environmental Learning Center and Wetland Project, a large marine touchtank, aquariums, habitats for mammals, reptiles and insects; and classrooms for physics, chemistry, geology and archaeology. We also have an alligator habitat, lecture hall, lens grinding lab, shark dissection lab and a large playground.
