Our mission is to provide our students with an exceptional education experience that will not only prepare them for the world of work, but will foster and develop their leadership potential and motivate them to become community builders, global citizens, and stewards of positive growth and change in our society.

The Uhuru Academyis an independent institution of learning committed to cultural awareness, academic excellence, and the exercise of freedom. The Uhuru Academy is made up of a variety of programs, projects, and/or initiatives that are designed to move the African community toward self-discovery, self-reliance, and self-determination. Our vision is to build an exemplary institution of learning that is accessible to all students and families who believe that receiving a quality education is just as much a right as it is a privilege.
Our Programs
The Uhuru Academy offers a variety of programs and initiatives that enrich our community culturally and academically:
- The Uhuru Online Academy (Online K-12 Education)
- Operation Reconnect (Online, self-paced High School Diploma Program for ages 16+)
- Uhuru Academy Consultation and Training (cultural competence, youth entrepreneurship, violence prevention/intervention, and curriculum development)
