The Red Cross is the largest non-profit humanitarian organization in the world, seeking to prevent and alleviate human suffering by utilizing the generosity of donors and the passion of our volunteers. This is tangibly achieved through our many lines of service: crisis care and casework for those affected by national disasters and local home fires, reconnecting families across the globe separated by war, famine, disease, or disaster, as well as providing education and coping skills to military service members and their families, training the community in CPR and first aid, providing nearly half of the nation’s blood supply, and partnering with organizations to prepare for disaster through community education and disaster action planning.
