The Future Society

The Future Society (TFS) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in the United States and Europe. Our mission is to align artificial intelligence through better governance. We develop, advocate for, and facilitate the implementation of AI governance mechanisms, ranging from laws and regulations to voluntary frameworks such as global principles, norms, standards, and corporate policies.

We work to align artificial intelligence through better governance. Since 2014, The Future Society has been advising decision-makers worldwide, drawing on our analyses and networks. We help governments act for security early, coordinate amidst shifting power dynamics, and navigate technological, catastrophic, and political risks from powerful AI.

As an independent nonprofit organization, we analyze and propose sound AI policy recommendations, build relationships across the spectrum of decision-makers, and facilitate action-oriented dialogue to address risks and promote fundamental freedoms.
