Urban Youth Racing School (UYRS) empowers underserved youth through STEM education, mentorship, and hands-on learning, using motorsports as a powerful gateway to opportunity.

Our mission is to expose young people to high-demand career pathways in motorsports, automotive technology, advanced manufacturing, engineering, AI, and emerging technologies — industries where they are historically underrepresented. Through immersive, project-based programs, UYRS builds confidence, technical skills, discipline, teamwork, and leadership, while helping students envision futures they may not have previously believed were possible.

By combining rigorous STEM instruction with real-world applications, industry partnerships, and positive role models, UYRS creates a structured pathway that connects education to meaningful careers and breaks cycles of inequity through opportunity.

Founded in Philadelphia, Urban Youth Racing School (UYRS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to STEM education and workforce development for youth from underserved communities.

UYRS delivers innovative, hands-on programs that introduce students to the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics behind motorsports and advanced industries. Our core programs include Build A Dream Motorsports, Drone Technology, CNC Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, the Urban Youth Racing League (UYRL), and mobile STEM Truck activations that bring learning directly into communities and schools.

Students don’t just learn concepts — they build CO₂ dragsters, fly drones, operate CNC machines, explore AI applications, race simulators, earn industry-recognized certifications, and engage directly with professionals working in the field. These experiences are designed to translate classroom learning into real-world skills that are transferable across multiple industries.

With nearly three decades of impact, UYRS has built strong partnerships with schools, universities, corporations, and industry leaders, creating a pipeline that connects youth to mentorship, education, and career exposure. Our programs emphasize equity, excellence, accountability, and community, helping students develop both technical competencies and life skills that prepare them for long-term success.
