Acerca de

SCC’s mission is to empower individuals to positively impact their lives, their communities, and the environment.

The Southwest Conservation Corps (SCC) is a non-profit service organization built on the legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) that operated from 1933 – 1942. SCC provides youth and young adults opportunities to complete conservation projects on public lands throughout the Four Corners region. While serving with SCC members receive training on job skills, conflict resolution, leadership, teamwork, and environmental stewardship. Programs are developed using a step ladder approach to provide a progression of skill development based on a member’s needs. Members receive a weekly living allowance, training, and an AmeriCorps Education Award (for qualifying individuals).

The Four Corners office runs field programs year round. May-October is the peak season during which the region operates approximately 10 crews at a time. Anywhere from 110 to 170 young adults participate in the Four Corners program each year. The Four Corners office serves youth, young adults and recent era Veterans with crew based and intern programming.
