Amnesty International's vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.

We campaign to:

-free all prisoners of conscience: that is people detained anywhere for there beliefs of because of their ethnic origin, sex, colour, language, national or social origin, economic status, birth, or other status, provided they have not used or advocated violence.

-ensure fair and prompt trials for all political prisoners.

-abolish the death penalty, torture, and other cruel treatment of prisoners.

-end political killings and "disappearances".

Amnesty International is a membership movement, independent of any government, political persuasion or religious creed. Amnesty International is funded by it's worldwide members and donors. No funding is sought or accepted from governments or political parties.
