Volunteer to support a Foster Care Family in McDonough, Henry County

Atlanta Angels knows that not everyone is called to foster or adopt, but everyone can make a difference in the life of a child. There are several ways you can make a difference. We have the Love Box program, where we match a foster family with a volunteer in their community who is committed to building a relationship and showing consistently. The Love Box program provides fostering families (caregivers, children in foster care, and biological/adopted children) with community and holistic support. When our families are matched with committed volunteers who show up monthly, parents feel supported and children gain a greater sense of normalcy, relational permanency, and self confidence.

This program requires a one-year commitment, with meetings at least once a month with your family.

We are currently seeking specific volunteers to be matched with families on our waitlist! We are specifically looking for volunteers in or around the McDonough area for family number #67.

This is a 2 caregiver home with 4 adopted kiddos (11, 13, 15, 15 y/o) and 2 kiddos in care (9, 10 y/o). The foster mom is always on the go! She is an expert multi-tasker which comes in handy with 6 children in the home. She is coming out of retirement to continue her career of teaching in order to support her kiddos. The foster dad is a disabled veteran who spends quality time with the kiddos at home or outdoors. The 9 y/o kiddo is nonverbal and has been diagnosed with autism and cognitive delay. While he has difficulties expressing his needs, he is described to be the star of the show and loves to dance, sing, and make others laugh. The Caspers would love more opportunities to travel and spend quality time together as a couple. They would benefit from a volunteer who has experience with autism, comfortable with the topic of self-harm and suicidality, and strong boundaries to wrap around support to the kiddos in the home through mentorship, bringing in extracurricular resources, and childcare so the caregivers can have consistent breaks.
