Online Web Scraping and Procurement Database Integration Support
Descripción
Descripción
The AID initiative serves as a structured operational pipeline designed to track, qualify, and organize international procurement opportunities to expand the reach of civil society initiatives. To professionalize this workflow and eliminate manual data entry bottlenecks, our team requires hands-on technical assistance to automate the aggregation of active tenders from public multilateral portals into our central database.
The selected Online Volunteers will provide data-extraction and technical writing assistance to support our procurement tracking team. Working under the direct supervision of our project coordinators, the volunteers will focus entirely on completing a single, concrete task: the delivery of a functional, documented web-scraping script and an integrated database tracking interface to automate tender logging.
To deliver this single collective technical output, the volunteers will contribute to the following integrated components:
Develop and test clean, well-commented data-extraction scripts (utilizing standard languages such as Python) to pull public tender metadata (deadlines, sectors, links) from authorized procurement portals.
Configure API connections or structured data pipelines to feed extracted tender information smoothly into our central repository and tracker layouts.
Draft step-by-step user documentation and basic troubleshooting guides to ensure the automated tracking process can be maintained easily by non-technical team members.
Conduct data validation checks to ensure extracted text fields are cleanly formatted, free of duplicate entries, and categorized accurately.
