We’re currently seeking volunteers to help bring engaging activity groups to life at the BRC Tillary Women’s Residence, a 200-bed shelter in Brooklyn serving women living with mental illness. Our goal is to foster a warm, welcoming community where residents can connect, express themselves, and enjoy meaningful shared experiences.
We’re looking for kind, enthusiastic individuals who are interested in leading small group activities on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Whether your passion is creative writing, poetry, arts & crafts, meditation, deep breathing, or another engaging activity, your time and talents can create moments of joy, connection, and self-expression for the women we serve.
These groups are intentionally kept small to create a more personal and supportive environment for everyone involved. Sessions would ideally take place on weekday afternoons, though some evening availability may be possible. If you’re able to make a consistent commitment and are excited to share something you love, we would be delighted to have you join us in building something truly special.
If interested, all new volunteers must submit a New Volunteer Registration form at the following link: CLICK HERE
Once your form is received, we will follow up with details about our next available orientation sessions. These 45-minute Zoom sessions are a great introduction to BRC, the work we do in the community, and the many ways you can get involved.
