SPANISH SPEAKING VOLUNTEER TO HELP WITH CLIMATE CHANGE DOCUMENTARY

We are looking for a volunteer Volunteer English Spanish speaker to join the production team for POWER & LIGHT—a documentary exploring the intersection of religion, climate change, and environmental justice. Power & Light is a lively portrait of a Dominican “Padre” (Pastor) and his Minnesotan wife, who bring the gospel of Creation Care to their community in Lawrence, MA.

Hands-on learning experience low-key (no pressure). The Producer/Director will work with you for the beginning of an Assistant / Associate Producer role, making it an excellent opportunity to build foundational skills.

Who we are looking for:

Skills: A very strong writer and good researcher. Able to work alone but ask for direction when needed.

Language: Fluent Spanish for this project. Good is OK, but not great!

Editing: Experience with Premiere Pro, if interested in editing.

What you’ll do:

Review documentary cuts and written materials. Assist with editing if interested. Re-do project pitch / digital presence.

Most of the beginning work is learning to network, some grant applications WITH HELP. These are absolutely vital skills for independent filmmaking.

The Logistics:

College Credit: Available if you are enrolled student

Schedule: 10-15 hours/week. Less and it won’t be worthwhile.

Location: Hybrid setup. Much of the work can be done remotely, paired with essential in-person sessions in Tribeca Studio or at WESTBETH in the West Village.
