Descripción
Conversation Companions provide older adult clients and/or adult clients with disabilities with socialization. Companions may engage the client in life review, watch movies at home or in the theater, play card or board games, take walks, go for lunch, etc.
Duties:
- Will visit with assigned client once a week to socialize.
- Attend quarterly volunteer support meetings for all Older Adult volunteer programs
- Must complete any necessary paperwork
- Meet with client at their home once a week for 1-1.5 hours
Qualifications Needed:
- Must be 18 or older
- Minimum 6-month commitment, 1-1.5 hours a week
- Attend semi-annual volunteer support meetings for all Older Adult volunteer programs
- Empathetic and understanding to the needs of older adults and/or disabled adults
- Able to maintain client confidentiality
- Attend in-house training
