🌟 Share Your Experience—Make a Lasting Impact! 🌟
Looking for a meaningful way to spend your time in retirement? School on Wheels invites seniors and retirees to volunteer as one-on-one tutors for students experiencing homelessness. Your life experience, patience, and encouragement can be a guiding light for a child who needs support.
What you’ll bring:
- A friendly, patient attitude and a willingness to listen
- 1-2 hours of time each week (we’ll help you find a schedule that works)
- A desire to uplift a student with your presence
What your student will gain:
- A steady mentor during a time of uncertainty
- Academic help tailored to their needs—reading, math, life skills (we provide the curriculum!)
- Hope and the belief that they can succeed
▶️School on Wheels provides tutoring online or in-person at a shelter, library or other public space. You select your preference when you apply as a volunteer - please note we have many students who need in-person support!
🎉 No teaching certificate required—just your kindness and willingness to show up. Together, we’ll build confidence, open doors, and make a real difference.
