Be There When Your Community Needs You Most!
When disaster strikes, a compassionate neighbor can make all the difference. The American Red Cross is seeking dedicated volunteers to join our Disaster Action Team (DAT) and provide immediate support to individuals and families affected by local emergencies, such as home fires.
As a DAT Volunteer, you'll:
- Respond to local disasters alongside trained Red Cross team members.
- Provide comfort, compassion, and emotional support to families in crisis.
- Help connect individuals with emergency assistance and recovery resources.
- Work collaboratively with fellow volunteers to support your community.
No prior disaster response experience is necessary! The Red Cross provides training and ongoing support to help you feel confident and prepared.

Interested in volunteering?
The first thing you will want to do is set up an account with Volunteer Connection. This platform will be the site you will use to add your information, as well as to search and find opportunities within the area. Click on the following link: Get Started Today!, and you will click the red button that says "Apply Now". Once you create the account, here is where you can browse opportunities in the area. Additionally, you can navigate to the Opportunities Page and can explore positions that require more commitment/time than one off volunteer events.
