    About Outcome School

Outcome School is a free tech school and community-powered learning ecosystem that equips underrepresented adults with real, job-ready skills in technology and entrepreneurship. We build builders of bridges, not just resumes—by connecting learners to training, mentorship, and real career pathways.

    Role Summary

We’re seeking a Volunteer Outreach & Partnership Coordinator to expand Outcome School’s presence across Los Angeles County, with a strong focus on equitable access for underserved communities—especially individuals impacted by homelessness, re-entry, and economic hardship. This person will build trust-based relationships with shelters, halfway houses, workforce programs, community-based organizations, employers, and supportive service providers to connect more learners to free training and job opportunities.

This role is ideal for someone comfortable speaking with people in the community, coordinating partnerships, and creating pathways that reduce barriers to education and employment—work that supports reduced recidivism, stronger families, and long-term community stability.

    Volunteer Commitment

    • Location: Los Angeles County (hybrid: community-based outreach + remote coordination)
    • Time: 5–10 hours/week (flexible)
    • Duration: 3–6 months preferred (extension welcome)
    • Schedule: Self-managed with weekly check-in

    Key Responsibilities

    1) Community Outreach & Field Engagement

    • Build relationships with shelters, transitional housing programs, halfway houses, and community hubs
    • Attend community events, resource fairs, and partner meetings to share Outcome School opportunities
    • Conduct short info sessions and “career pathway” talks for residents and program participants
    • Help residents understand how to access free training, mentorship, and support services

    2) Partnership Development (Mission-Aligned Organizations)

    • Identify, outreach to, and onboard referral partners across LA County, including:
      • Re-entry programs and justice-impacted support orgs
      • Workforce development agencies
      • Community colleges / adult education programs
      • Immigrant and refugee support orgs
      • Youth and family service organizations
    • Build a pipeline of consistent learner referrals into Outcome School’s programs
    • Create lightweight partnership agreements (referral flow, points of contact, shared goals)

    3) Employer & Career Pathway Partnerships

    • Build relationships with employers, staffing agencies, and tech community groups willing to:
      • offer interviews, job shadowing, apprenticeships, and internships
      • participate in mock interviews, portfolio reviews, and mentorship
      • sponsor cohort capstones or demo day projects
    • Coordinate employer engagement opportunities for students and alumni

    4) Learner Support Navigation (Barrier Reduction)

    • Work with internal teams to ensure referral learners understand:
      • program expectations (time commitment, English requirement, remote learning readiness)
      • application steps, pre-work, and scheduling
    • Help connect learners to supportive services when needed (internet access, devices, case management programs, etc.) through partner networks
    • Support re-entry-focused pathways to training and employment (career readiness + wraparound alignment)

    5) Tracking, Reporting & CRM Updates

    • Track outreach activity, partner conversations, referrals, and outcomes
    • Maintain partner contact lists and referral data (Google Sheets / Salesforce if available)
    • Provide a monthly summary of progress: outreach touches, referrals, partner growth, and barriers identified

What Success Looks Like (90 Days)

    • 10–20 active community partner relationships established or reactivated
    • A consistent referral pathway from shelters/transitional housing programs into Outcome School
    • 2–5 employer partners engaged for hiring support (mock interviews, portfolio reviews, apprenticeship interest)
    • A clear outreach and follow-up system documented for repeatable growth

    Ideal Candidate

    • Comfortable speaking with people in the community and building trust in real-world settings
    • Experience in outreach, case management, workforce development, nonprofit partnerships, or community organizing
    • Passion for second chances, re-entry support, and community empowerment
    • Strong communication + follow-through (phone/email/in-person)
    • Familiar with Los Angeles County community resources and service networks (preferred)

Bonus (not required): experience working with justice-impacted communities, shelters, transitional housing, or re-entry organizations.

    Why This Role Matters

This role helps build a true bridge: from shelter or re-entry to skills, confidence, mentorship, and a real pathway into tech careers. It’s community work with measurable outcomes—education, employment, and restored opportunity.
