Do you want to become part of a global organization that identifies people and initiatives that have successfully solved local environmental challenges of access to clean water, clean air, and nutritious food? And that helps to promote working solutions to improve the climate? Then WAFA is for you!

Become A Volunteer For WAFA (Water Air Food Awards)

WAFA is a volunteer-based NGO headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. Our main activities are to identify, recognize and award community initiatives that address basic needs and collaborate with nature. By doing this, we give a voice to otherwise unknown and unheard heroes.

As an SEO Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective search engine optimization strategies to drive organic traffic and improve SERP rankings. This role requires a balance of creativity, technical expertise, and analytical skills to ensure optimal website performance and visibility.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Create, implement, and manage comprehensive SEO strategies to meet business objectives.
    • Stay updated on SEO best practices, algorithm changes, and industry trends
    • Conduct keyword research to identify high-performing, relevant keywords.
    • Optimize website content, meta tags, and images for targeted keywords.
    • Audit and optimize website structure, URL hierarchy, and internal linking.
    • Improve page load speed, mobile-friendliness, and user experience
    • Collaborate with content creators to produce SEO-friendly articles, blogs, and landing pages.
    • Use tools like Yoast, SEMrush, or Clearscope to refine content performance.
    • Track and analyze website traffic, rankings, and KPIs using tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and SEMrush.
    • Prepare detailed SEO performance reports and recommend actionable insights.
    • Conduct regular competitive analysis to identify opportunities and gaps.
    • Benchmark performance against competitors and industry standards
    • Work closely with web developers to implement technical SEO improvements.
    • Partner with marketing and social media teams to align SEO with overall strategy.

    We expect you to:

    • 1-3 years of proven SEO experience
    • Proficiency in SEO tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, or Screaming Frog.
    • Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and CMS platforms like WordPress.
    • Have availability of 8-10 hours per week minimum

It goes without saying that you enjoy working with people, are a team player, self-driven and well organised.

You will be working remotely and require access to a computer with fast internet connection. We communicate via emails and video calls.

    As a volunteer, you get:

To work in an international team and get exposure to experts and enthusiasts from various backgrounds. You have a flexible schedule and the ability to work from home on topics you enjoy and that are meaningful. Most importantly, you will have the chance to put your skills into practice and help shape the future of an organization with global reach and potential.

Does this sound like a job for you? You can apply with your CV via email to aima@wafaward.org. We will get back to you for an in-depth discussion about the position.
