SCOPE USA, Inc. is a Florida-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports university engineering students to design and open-source public safety and disaster preparedness technology. Our students also engage their local communities through workshops oriented around public safety, STEM awareness, and disaster preparedness. Our volunteers help power every part of the organization. Volunteers work directly with our leadership team to advance SCOPE's mission. You'll lend your experience to a cause that matters, connect with a passionate team, and contribute to work that strengthens community safety across Florida and beyond.

About This Opportunity

The Social Media Volunteer develops and executes SCOPE's social media presence across platforms, growing awareness of the organization's mission and programs. This is an ongoing volunteer role with a direct impact on SCOPE's ability to recruit interns, attract donors, and build community support.

Responsibilities

• Manage and post to SCOPE's social media accounts on a consistent schedule
• Develop content ideas and a monthly content calendar in coordination with SCOPE leadership
• Write captions, draft posts, and source or create supporting visuals
• Monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages, and grow SCOPE's following
• Track basic performance metrics and surface insights to inform content strategy

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts for an organization, brand, or cause
• Strong writing voice with the ability to adapt tone for different platforms and audiences
• Familiarity with major platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X/Twitter) and scheduling tools
• Basic graphic design or visual content skills are a plus
