As a Faith in Action (FIA) volunteer driver, you're part of our Driving Force for Compassion. You help aging adults remain independent by providing rides to medical appointments, grocery trips and more in Bloomington-Normal and parts of McLean County.
Scheduling is very flexible - you choose when and how often you volunteer. Appointments might be early on a weekday, later in the afternoon or on Saturday. Select rides that work for you via "RIdeScheduler," a secure, web-based program. Then, drive your own vehicle to meet your rider.
Every ride you provide makes a meaningful difference! FIA is interfaith and respects the personal beliefs of all our volunteers.

FIA "care receivers" are by definition over 60 years old. Volunteers interacting with them will pass a background check and be at minimum, 21 years of age. During Faith in Action Orientation, potential volunteers learn how to choose rides and submit the paperwork required to begin. Orientation takes about 1 hour, 10 minutes.
