Join Our Board and Make a Difference in Your Community: Adult and Youth Leaders
Wanted
Ballston Spa, October 9, 2026
Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you have ideas, energy,
and a desire to help shape the future? We invite you to apply to become a Youth Board
Member with the Ballston Spa Education Foundation.
Youth board members play a valuable role in bringing fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and
the voice of young people to our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop
leadership skills, gain experience in nonprofit governance, collaborate with community leaders,
and make a meaningful impact.
As a Youth Board Member, you will:
Participate in board meetings and discussions
Share insights and ideas from a youth perspective
Assist with community outreach and special events
Help support our mission and programs
Build leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
We are seeking motivated young people who are interested in serving their community,
learning about nonprofit leadership, and contributing to important initiatives. Previous board
experience is not required—just enthusiasm, commitment, and a willingness to participate.
Serving as a Youth Board Member is an excellent way to gain valuable experience for college
applications, scholarships, resumes, and future career opportunities while making a positive
difference in the lives of others.
We encourage all interested adults and students to apply. We welcome diverse backgrounds,
experiences, and perspectives and look forward to hearing how you can help strengthen our
organization.

The mission of the BSEF is to support educational enrichment for the students of Ballston Spa.
Through grants to educators, we fund projects that are outside the scope of the Ballston Spa
Central School District's budget. Specifically, projects that impact students’ intellectual,
emotional, physical, or social development—increasing the depth and/or variety of subjects or
some other form of educational benefit.
We like to think of ourselves as the “cherry on top” of what is regularly funded by the District.
We don’t fill holes in school funding; we amplify the education experiences of children.

We hope you will consider joining us and becoming part of the next generation of community
leaders.
