Volunteer Abroad: Orphanage Child Care Centre

At the heart of Future Stars International is our Child Care Centre — a safe haven for 30 vulnerable children in Buduburam, Ghana. This four-bedroom house has been transformed into a place of shelter, care, and healing for children who have experienced unimaginable hardships.

These young lives have been shaped by the trauma of losing parents, physical and sexual abuse, extreme poverty, and severe neglect. Many were denied education and basic human rights before coming into our care.

Our Child Care Centre gives every child the chance to grow in a nurturing and structured environment:

• Safe Shelter in a family-style home
• Daily Meals and access to clean water
• Education Support including school enrollment and supplies
• Emotional Healing through mentorship and positive role models
• A Community of Love where they are supported and never alone

We believe every child deserves a second chance — not just to survive, but to thrive.

Volunteers play a vital role in the daily life of the home. If you’re compassionate, patient, and ready to make a difference, this experience will be life-changing — for both you and the children.

What You’ll Do

• Childcare & Mentoring – Daily routines, emotional support, playtime
• Cleaning & Housekeeping – Helping keep the home safe and clean
• Fun & Learning Activities – Organizing games, crafts, and educational sessions
• Listening & Encouragement – Many children simply need someone to talk to
• House Maintenance – Repairs, painting, and improvement projects

Many volunteers also support our Future Stars Primary School, creating a meaningful dual impact in both education and care.

Our Impact So Far

• 30 children provided with full-time shelter, food, and care
• 100% enrolled in school with uniforms, supplies, and tutoring
• 4-bedroom home converted and maintained with volunteer support
• Dozens of volunteers from around the world engaged in mentorship
• Countless moments of healing, laughter, and transformation
