Role Overview
We are seeking a Volunteer Nutritionist to help us design, review, and strengthen the nutritional content included in each CultureKit. This role is perfect for someone passionate about community health, food access, and culturally grounded nutrition education.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with CTC staff to develop culturally inspired, family-friendly recipe cards.
- Review and refine nutrition information to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Help identify produce and ingredients that align with dietary guidelines and are affordable, fresh, and accessible for local families.
- Provide guidance on portion sizes, food safety, and balanced meal planning.
- Support the creation of simple nutrition tips for inclusion in each kit (e.g., healthy swaps, seasonal produce tips, hydration reminders).
- Optional: Attend occasional market days or community events to engage with residents and answer basic nutrition questions.
Qualifications
- Degree or coursework in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or related field (students welcome)
- Experience with community nutrition, food education, or culturally diverse food traditions is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate nutrition info into approachable, inclusive language.
- Commitment to equity, cultural sensitivity, and community empowerment.
