Direct Service Shelter Volunteer - Help a homeless senior feel human, not like a number!

St. Martin de Porres Shelter volunteers work in a variety of jobs, which include serving meals, special food items, and beverages; distributing towels, bathrobes, and supplies; doing dishes; clearing tables; and assisting staff. A volunteer can simply engage in conversations and be an empathetic, listening ear for our program participants. Other opportunities are tailored to volunteers' skills. For example, hair stylists provide barber services by cutting hair and trimming beards. There is ample time for conversation with Shelter clients while in these positions. Hope to see you soon!
