Friendly Visitor Volunteer James River Hospice Richmond VA

James River Hospice began in the Richmond area about 20 years ago. Because of the utmost care and companionship provided our staff and volunteers, our hospice is not only expanding in Virginia, but we are also expanding in the Richmond area. To that end, we are looking for Friendly Visitor Volunteers to spend time with our patients.

Our corporate offices are located in North Chesterfield, VA and we serve patients in the Richmond Metro area and the Tri-Cities.

Friendly Visitor volunteers do not perform any kind of care (no feeding, bathing, toileting, etc.) instead, you will do all you can to befriend your patient and share joy with them. You will visit your patient in whatever location they call home; an assistant living facility, a senior apartment, the home they've lived in since their adult children were small, a nursing home or a memory care unit.
