The Palm Desert COPS (Citizens on Patrol) program invites you to be part of a dedicated team of volunteers committed to serving and protecting Palm Desert. Here’s what you can look forward to:

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Neighborhood Patrols: Engage in non-confrontational, uniformed patrols to keep our neighborhoods and business areas safe and secure.
• Special Events Support: Help manage and control crowds and traffic at exciting City-sponsored events like the Golf Cart Parade, Fourth of July Celebration, and El Paseo Fashion Week.
• Emergency Assistance: Provide crucial traffic control at accident scenes and road obstructions when needed.
• Community Reporting: Report code violations, graffiti, and other issues to ensure our city remains beautiful and compliant.
• Safety Monitoring: Report suspicious activities, abandoned vehicles, and illegal parking to the Police Department.
• Property Checks: Conduct checks on vacant properties, garages, and homes to enhance community safety.
• Special Assignments: Assist with DUI checkpoints and "Click It or Ticket" campaigns as requested by the Police Department.
