Director of Supply Chain Operations - Volunteer Leadership Role

    About Us:

The Donovan’s Venom is a 501c3 nonprofit organization focused on curating universal accessibility to fine arts and music education for all. We are passionately dedicated to ensuring that everyone, regardless of financial circumstances, has access to high-quality music education, performance opportunities, and fine art. We aim to inspire, empower, and uplift communities by fostering a love for music and the arts through our commitment to education, inclusivity, diversity, and social impact, which drives us to expand our reach continually and enrich the lives of those we serve.

We’re looking for a Director of Membership to build and grow an engaged community of members, volunteers, supporters, and advocates. This leader will develop strategies that increase membership, strengthen retention, and create meaningful experiences that connect people to our mission.

    Position Overview

Build Something From the Ground Up. We’re looking for a Director, Supply Chain Operations who is excited by the opportunity to build.

Rather than stepping into an established function, you’ll have the opportunity to create our Supply Chain operation from the ground up—shaping the strategy, developing processes, building supplier relationships, introducing tools and systems, and ultimately helping build the team.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain professional who wants to make a meaningful impact, expand their leadership experience, and create something they can point to and say, “I built that.”

    What You’ll Do

    • Build the organization’s Supply Chain strategy, operating model, and roadmap.
    • Develop processes for sourcing, procurement, inventory, logistics, fulfillment, and Supply Operations.
    • Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with suppliers and strategic partners.
    • Establish purchasing, vendor-management, and supplier-performance practices.
    • Build demand planning, forecasting, inventory, and replenishment processes.
    • Help create scalable logistics, distribution, and fulfillment operations.
    • Identify Supply Chain risks and develop practical contingency plans.
    • Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting to measure performance and improve decision-making.
    • Identify technology and automation opportunities that make Supply Chain operations more efficient.
    • Partner across Operations, Finance, Product, Technology, and other teams.
    • Design the future Supply Chain team and help recruit and develop the people who will scale the function.

    What We’re Looking For

    • 4+ years of experience across Supply Chain, Supply Operations, procurement, sourcing, logistics, planning, or related areas.
    • Experience building, scaling, or transforming Supply Chain operations.
    • Strong knowledge of procurement, supplier management, inventory, planning, logistics, and fulfillment.
    • Proven ability to build processes, systems, SOPs, dashboards, and operating structures.
    • Strong supplier negotiation and relationship-management skills.
    • Experience solving complex operational problems in fast-moving environments.
    • Strong analytical, project-management, and decision-making skills.
    • Ability to balance long-term strategy with hands-on execution.
    • Experience building or leading teams preferred.
    • Experience with Supply Chain technology, systems, and automation strongly preferred.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

You’ll Thrive Here If You Are

A builder and player-coach who enjoys turning ideas into practical solutions. You’re comfortable working through ambiguity, creating structure where it doesn’t yet exist, collaborating across teams, and rolling up your sleeves when needed. Most importantly, you’re excited about the opportunity to build a Supply Chain function, shape how it operates, and leave a lasting impact on a growing organization.

    What Success Looks Like

Success in this role will include:

    • A clear Supply Chain strategy and operating model.
    • Strong, reliable supplier relationships.
    • Scalable procurement and Supply Operations processes.
    • Improved visibility across inventory, purchasing, suppliers, and fulfillment.
    • Clear Supply Chain KPIs and dashboards.
    • Reduced operational risk and supply disruption.
    • Greater efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
    • A strong Supply Chain team built to support future growth.

    Why Volunteer With Us?

This role provides the opportunity to:

    • Build and lead a function from the ground up.
    • Gain meaningful senior-level leadership experience.
    • Expand your experience across strategy, operations, systems, and team development.
    • Build tangible work and accomplishments for your professional portfolio.
    • Collaborate with leaders across multiple functions.
    • Make a visible impact on the organization’s growth and future capabilities.
