Some of the most meaningful moments in life happen in stillness. Our hospice patients—many of whom face their days with limited support—long for simple human presence: a warm voice, a listening ear, a peaceful companion.
As a Friendly Visitor Volunteer, you don’t need special skills or medical experience.
You simply need a compassionate heart.
Your presence can bring comfort, dignity, and connection to someone nearing the end of life. A short visit, a shared story, a hand held for a little while—these gentle acts soften loneliness and remind our patients that they matter.
By simply sitting with a patient, sharing conversation, reading aloud, listening to memories, or providing quiet comfort, you help ensure that no one feels alone during one of life’s most tender moments.
You don’t need the perfect words.
You just need compassion, patience, and a willingness to show up.
Volunteering as a hospice companion can be deeply moving, unexpectedly beautiful, and truly life-changing—for both the patient and you.
If you have a caring heart and a little time to give, we would be honored to have you join us.
✨ Your presence can bring comfort. Your time can bring peace. ✨
