Companion Volunteer - Heartland Hospice

Volunteers are the HEART of Heartland Hospice! We are looking for more friendly and compassionate individuals to join our hospice team to offer support to patients during their end-of-life journey. Companion Hospice Volunteers enrich the lives of hospice patients and their families through social visits where you may listen to life stories, read a short story, poem, or scripture, or hold a hand to provide a comforting Prescence. This is a flexible opportunity that works with your time schedule and location.

Requirements include: must be 18 years old, agree to a reference and background check, drug screen, two step TB test, and have reliable transportation to travel to patients in their homes, skilled nursing facilities, or assisted livings. Initial orientation and yearly annual education along with ongoing support are provided.
