    Descripción

    Position Summary

    The Grant Writer will identify, research, and prepare grant proposals and funding applications to secure financial support for HHFL’s recovery residence programs. This position will work closely with leadership to align funding strategies with program expansion, capital improvements, operational sustainability, and special initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research and identify local, state, and national grant opportunities aligned with behavioral health, recovery housing, mental health, workforce reintegration, and community stabilization.
    • Write compelling grant proposals, LOIs, and supporting documents.
    • Develop budgets and collaborate with leadership on financial projections.
    • Maintain grant calendar and track deadlines.
    • Prepare grant reports, outcomes tracking summaries, and compliance documentation.
    • Support relationship-building with foundations, corporations, and government entities.
    • Assist in developing sponsorship proposals and partnership packages.
    • Maintain organized grant files and submission records.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience writing successful grant proposals (nonprofit experience preferred).
    • Strong research and analytical skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Experience with behavioral health, recovery programs, or housing services preferred.
    • Familiarity with outcome tracking, logic models, and evaluation plans.
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

    Preferred Experience

    • Experience with Florida-based funders.
    • Knowledge of recovery residence standards (FARR/NARR).
    • Experience working with nonprofit financial documents and budgets.

    Compensation

    • This is a volunteer position supporting the mission of Hearth & Home of Florida. While this role is unpaid, it offers valuable nonprofit grant writing experience, portfolio development opportunities, and professional references based on performance.
    • Upon successful grant or funding approvals resulting from the volunteer’s work, the individual may be considered for a paid grant writing position or contract opportunity, contingent upon funding availability and organizational needs.
    • Volunteers in this role directly contribute to expanding recovery housing services in Central Florida, helping secure resources that impact individuals rebuilding their lives through structured, supportive housing.
