Do you like playing in the mud? Singing and dancing? Breathing clean forest air? Tryon Life Community Farm is looking for committed volunteers to join our friendly, enthusiastic Outdoor Education Team. Educators lead field trips and activities for groups ranging from young children to seniors, the vast majority being elementary school kids. Training will be provided.
We are especially looking for people who have some weekday availability and are able to commit for several months to a year. Of course, we don't expect any commitment prior to checking out the team, so if you're interested, you're welcome to come to meetings and shadow activities to see if we're a good fit.
This is a great resume builder! Learn lots of skills: youth education, plant recognition (and edibility!), gardening, ecology, etc. TLC Farm is a member of PDX Timebank, and you can claim volunteer hours for time bank credit.
Our driveway is at the south end of the Tryon Creek State Natural Area parking lot on SW Boones Ferry Rd. roughly opposite Coronado St. Drive down the driveway and park in the spaces on your left; there is a bike rack a little further down the driveway. We will email/text specific meeting sites on the farm to volunteers.
