Title: Event & Community Outreach

Works with:
Collaborates closely with the Events Director and fundraising team. Will regularly interact with volunteers, community partners, and occasionally with marketing and outreach teams to engage a younger audience of potential pet adopters.
Description of Role:
This volunteer will play a key role in identifying, planning, and supporting fundraising events and experiences. They will help us connect with new and younger generations of pet adopters by seeking out creative event opportunities and fostering a fun, social atmosphere. A natural people-person, this role is perfect for someone who loves to talk, network, and inspire others to get involved in our mission.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Research and identify local events, markets, or venues that would be a good fit for our rescue to attend.
- Reach out to event organizers, fill out vendor or nonprofit applications, and help coordinate event details.
- Follow up with contacts and track communication.
- Attend community events to represent the rescue — talk to people about our mission, recruit fosters, and encourage new volunteers to get involved.
- Help set up and take down our booth (tents, tables, signage, etc.).
Skills/Qualifications Needed:
- Outgoing, social, and comfortable engaging with diverse groups of people
- Passion for animals and enthusiasm for pet adoption
- Understanding of younger generations’ interests and communication styles
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with event planning or fundraising a plus but not required
- Must be a creative thinker and approach the role strategically.
- Must be self-motivated, organized, and consistent with follow through.
- Must have a HS diploma or higher degree of education.
- Must not have conflicting associations with similar non-profit organizations or business(es) related to animal welfare.
Time Commitment:
Approximately 5 hours per week, with flexibility and some grace around event schedules.
