Housing Support Phone & Outreach Volunteer | Bronx, NYC

Grace Community Care is seeking compassionate volunteers to support individuals and families experiencing housing instability.

Responsibilities include:

Making supervised phone calls to prospective program participants

Explaining basic program steps using an approved script

Reminding participants to submit required documents

Recording outreach attempts and general follow-up notes

Directing questions to the appropriate staff member

Volunteers will receive training, scripts, and ongoing supervision. They must communicate respectfully, protect confidential information, follow program procedures, and maintain accurate volunteer-time records.

Volunteers will not determine program eligibility, provide legal or medical advice, promise housing placement, collect payments, or perform unsupervised case management.

We are looking for dependable adults with good communication and basic phone or computer skills. Experience in customer service, community outreach, housing support, or disability services is helpful but not required.

Estimated commitment: 2–4 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.
