Thank you for your interest in volunteering as a decoy for the Canine Detection Program within the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The TSA is seeking volunteers who may be interested, willing and available to participate in the Explosive Detection K-9 Program at the Mitchell International Airport (MKE) in Milwaukee, WI. The K9 teams train daily to detect, deter, and prevent threats to the traveling public and commercial aviation. You will be playing the role of passengers and carry ‘training aids’ during your decoy volunteer time. There are different activities we utilize decoys for within the airport so it is very possible that each time you volunteer you could be in different areas, doing different things. Most times you are mixed in with security check point lines or crowded boarding gates and the dogs have to identify you amongst the other passengers. We are constantly testing their limits and advancing their capabilities and having new volunteers helps with that!
Decoy Requirements:
You can only volunteer for one date every 45 days.
Our volunteers attend either a 5:00am-7:00am training session or a 7:00-9:00am training session. We are training 7 days a week most weeks.
Parking in airport hourly structure - airport will provide parking sticker
