Everyone deserves to see themselves in the pages of a book! You can help Little Free Library fulfill its vision of a book for every reader by coordinating a local book drive. This book drive will support a traveling Little Free Library wagon in Northridge, California that distributes LGBTQIA+ books at Pride events. LGBTQIA+ books of all genres and for all ages are welcome, although kids and teen books are needed most.
This is a flexible volunteer role. You can coordinate your local book drive during the times that work best for you and your community.
Purpose: By collecting diverse LGBTQIA+ books, you'll be supporting Little Free Library's mission to build community, inspire readers, and expand book access.
Responsibilities:
Training & Resources Available: We will help you get to know our organization and share our tips for planning a successful book drive.
Benefits: Experience the satisfaction of getting books into the hands of more readers. Connect with your community. Develop skills in planning and executing a project from start to finish. You’ll get a free Little Free Library t-shirt after you record your impact in the Team LFL online hub!
Supervision & Support: You can connect with the Little Free Library steward or Brianna, the Community Engagement Manager, to ask questions.
Register on our website to get started. If it's your first time signing up as a Team LFL volunteer, you will need to create an account in our online volunteer hub.
After you register, we will send you a book drive planning guide. Little Free Library staff and the Little Free Library caretaker (the steward) can answer your questions along the way.
