Volunteer Manager - Professional Volunteer

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience in volunteer management or general management, and proficiency in relevant software tools such as Google Workspace. This role also involves public speaking and engaging with the public on social media to promote volunteer opportunities and recognize volunteer contributions. This role is ideal for anyone retired looking to keep busy or anyone looking to build their resume.

Company Overview:

The SpreadYourHeart Organization is a grassroots nonprofit organization that provides outreach services that rehabilitate the homeless, recover impaired environments, and empower entrepreneurs around the world. We operate in states around the U.S but provide direct support to communities in San Bernardino County, CA and Hillsborough County, FL.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies for recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the volunteer membership program, ensuring a positive experience for all participants
• Utilize Google Workspace to track volunteer engagement and manage relevant data
• Present training materials and facilitate training sessions for new volunteers
• Oversee social media engagement to promote volunteer events and highlight volunteer achievements
• Conduct regular evaluations of the volunteer program to identify areas for improvement
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate volunteers into various organizational initiatives
• Represent the organization at community events and engage in public speaking opportunities to advocate for the volunteer program
• Organize and lead in-field events

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in volunteer management or related fields such as social work or community outreach, or general management (Required)
• Strong supervisory skills with a demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively (Required)
• Proficiency in Google applications and social media,
• Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
• Experience in developing training programs tailored to various skill levels
• Familiarity with social media platforms for effective communication and outreach
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask
• A passion for community service and a commitment to enhancing the volunteer experience
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Willingness to grow with the developing organization
• Ability to commute to various sites in San Bernardino County
• Access to a laptop and smartphone
